October 2025: The New Issue of Burda Style!

Your October magazine is here!

Some issues make you want to get out the big box of pins, sharpen your tailor's chalk, and take a few hours just for yourself. This is one of them! To mark the brand's 75th anniversary, we are celebrating the most precious aspects of sewing: the freedom to create your own style, the joy of transforming an idea into a garment, and the simple pleasure of wearing something you have sewn yourself. Autumn inspires us with warm fabrics, clean cuts, bold colors, and silhouettes designed to be worn from morning to night.

Throughout its pages, this issue unfolds four distinct worlds to inspire your needlework. Ethnic elegance reveals bohemian cuts in warm brown tones. Vintage looks inspired by aviator style with a modern twist play on a mix of noble textures and bold couture details. The color block trend imposes its vibrant colors in both classic and curvy versions. Finally, our best of maternity collection for the office proves that elegance and comfort can go hand in hand at every stage of life. And let's not forget the revisited vintage model from the seventies and the trendy asymmetrical model directly inspired by the catwalks!

The Vintage Model & Runway-Inspired Model

Iconic styles are taking over our closets...and with good reason why! No matter whether they're inspired by vintage fashion or leading designers, these classics are easy to adopt and wear in any situation.

On the left, a retro look that hits the mark. The Bianca tunic blouse (133, page 12) is a revisited '70s style.
Feminine without being fussy, with its neat neckline, controlled volume, and embroidered embellishments. The spectacular puff sleeves and flowing volume of this tunic capture the bohemian spirit of the 70s. Both casual and elegant, it lends itself to a thousand combinations: belted over flared jeans to accentuate the retro look, or worn loose with high boots for an irresistible fall look.

On the right, the asymmetrical jacket 120 (page 79), a key piece for the season.
Short, structured, double-breasted, and with offset lapels, this is a graphic piece that elongates the silhouette. Worn over a black turtleneck and textured bottoms, it creates a very contemporary city look. Make it in wool, flannel, or subtle jacquard, and opt for contrasting buttons for a wow effect.

Ethnic Elegance

Autumn is adorned with warm shades: camel, brown, and ochre. At the office, in the evening, or at work, soft and textured fabrics are perfect for everyday wear thanks to their bohemian and refined cuts.

On the left, the dress 108 on page 18 with its balloon sleeves and graphic print in earth tones gives it a timeless chic style. Easy to slip on, it charms with its fluidity and versatility. Belt it to accentuate the waist or wear it loose with boots and a long cardigan.

On the right, the camel coat 111 on page 19: long, straight, and featuring large patch pockets, it immediately makes a statement. It is the ideal companion for city breaks or autumn trips. It enhances jeans as well as dresses and goes well with XXL scarves, such as the one we suggest you sew on page 20.

Vintage Looks with a Modern Twist

A return to the past, but with a contemporary twist. The 70s and 80s inspire silhouettes with clean lines, revisited for today's woman. They reconcile retro charm and graphic modernity.

On the left, the modernized 105 lavallière blouse, on page 81.
A soft ruffle, satiny fabric, powder pink: unapologetically romantic and easy to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe. Pair it with wide-leg pants or high-waisted jeans for unfailing elegance.

On the right, the 119 belted blazer in corduroy, on page 85.
A fitted silhouette, beautiful shoulders, and a tailored belt for a chic, aviator-inspired look. Especially when paired with a lace skirt or gabardine cargo pants. With this type of piece, dare to try ribbed velvet, stretch gabardine, or herringbone. It's an ideal centerpiece that can be paired with a multitude of fabrics.

Color Blocking

Make way for color! This fall, gray skies won't be the norm. Bold, bright colors are the hottest trend right now, worn as either a single piece or a total look.

On the left, the fuchsia straight dress 109, on page 91.
Minimalist cut, maximum impact: this is perfect for those who want to dare to wear bold colors without adding too many details. Layer it with a light-colored collar for a real graphic twist.

On the right, the two-tone blue and black dress 125, on page 97.
The vertical contrast elongates the silhouette and energizes your stride. A flowing piece, available in sizes 46 to 56, it moves with you and makes an impact, day or night.

Because professional elegance doesn't stop with pregnancy, this issue features designs that combine comfort, femininity, and style. Soft fabrics, tailored cuts, and clever details...everything you need to feel comfortable without sacrificing style.

On the left, the camel blazer 129, on page 104.
A timeless piece from the professional wardrobe, revisited for maternity wear: its soft cut and slightly relaxed fit offer comfort and ease, while retaining the chic, structured look of a classic blazer. It can be worn open over a flowing blouse.

On the right, the black pants 131, on page 106.
An everyday essential, they are designed to evolve with your curves thanks to an adjustable waistband. Their fitted cut elongates the legs, while their stretch fabric ensures comfort and support. Easy to pair, they are an elegant ally for both the office and going out.

These patterns and many more can be found in the October 2025 issue of Burda Style, available in stores and on our website www.burdastyle.com!
