How long have you been sewing?
"I started sewing as a child; my mother taught me to sew when I was quite young. I have been making my own clothes since I was in elementary school. This lifelong passion has led me to work as an alterations manager for several bridal shops, and as an educator for a thread manufacturer. I currently work as a pattern designer for a company that makes custom seat covers."

Leather Biker Jacket 113 01/2017
Model A, a hot biker jacket sewn with a metallic leather, is a must-have for every party wardrobe! The cropped cut is a great look with high-waisted trousers and skirts – and the visual bonus that lengthens for never-ending legs. And every bit of effort is worth it to put together the relaxed biker jacket model B, sewn with an unbelievably soft sueded leather and featuring stitch details on the sleeves and in the back. The cropped length makes it equally great to pair with a dress or trousers.
"I was looking for a challenge, plus I really wanted a classic leather jacket, so I decided to make this model. It is sewn from New Zealand deer skin, with a polyester satin print lining. I added about 1 1/2" to the body length, then made a belt and belt loops. The whole project took me between 5 and 10 hours to put together, and the only difficulty I had with it was an occasional skipped stitch on the heavier leather parts. When my husband saw my jacket, he said 'You made that?? Unbelievable!'"
