The new March 2025 issue: Spotlight on the most beautiful sewing trends!
Your new March issue of Burda Style is filled with inspiration, where beautiful sewing projects celebrate the return of long-awaited pleasant weather!
Each collection opens with a view of the most beautiful pieces from the catwalks and street style of the spring-summer 2025 season that have inspired our team of stylists. You'll find 30 patterns to sew, including 5 new curvy cuts, two of which you can sew up to size 60.
We have a new addition! At the beginning of the magazine, a clear overview presents the various fashions and sewing pieces, along with their sizes, degree of sewing difficulty, and the page number on which the pattern is presented.
On the program for this new issue:
Our special Burda Style 75th Anniversary Vintage Model is a re-edited dress from 1966, sewn in a floral-patterned jacquard and accompanied by the exciting true story of that decade's fashion revolution. The first major “Retro 2.0” collection plays with shades of soft aqua and subtle lilac that harmonize with modern lines and details. The pleats and drapes of the “New Shapes” collection shape couture and contemporary pieces in elegant beige tones. Then discover the “Romantique All Over” sewing patterns celebrating the baroque and romantic aesthetic to be worn as a total look this season. The small “Best Of” collection features cuts in leopard prints, an unmistakable trend! Bonus: a sharp, utilitarian, and feminine jumpsuit by Berlin-based label SLY010.
March's Vintage Model: A 60's Dress to Sew

From the emancipation of women, to flower power, to the era of a carefree spirit, the 1960s overturned many conventions and introduced innovations previously unimaginable. This was particularly true in fashion, with daring designers such as Mary Quant, queen of the miniskirt, André Courrèges and his futuristic vision of sleek fashion, and Pierre Cardin, a true master of avant-garde style.
The dress 129 is a master sewing piece re-edited from a 1966 special issue. It brings together all the best features and boldness of the Sixties such as a subtly emphasized silhouette, a sunshine-yellow jacquard fabric with floral relief (how vintage!), and precious details like the double-breasted bodice and large fabric-covered buttons... So sweet!
Trend: The Retro 2.0 Collection

Retro 2.0: this collection features Curvy models, and blends innovative looks for the future with nostalgic elegance. Aquatic and lilac shades add a vintage touch, while modern and relaxed details give it a contemporary feel.
The pants 115B, reimagined with darts, catch our eye with their spectacular volume. The pleats, subtly extending up to the waist, add a touch of structured elegance, enhanced by a tucked-in belt. We love the lilac color, symbolizing spring’s cheerfulness.
The dress 120, available to sew in sizes 46-56, is ultra versatile! Its collar can be worn open or closed thanks to a discreetly integrated invisible zipper. The shoulders and sleeves are gathered with drawstrings, adding a unique detail to the dress.
Trend: New Shapes

The play of pleats and draping artistically sculpts a wardrobe complete with pieces boasting a refined designer look in white, beige, and camel—chic, modern colors that never fail.
The blouse 118, with its minimalist appeal, stands out with sleeves subtly shaped by pleats, creating a dreamy neckline. To achieve this divine result, the instructions for this model are detailed and illustrated.
The skirt 116 is breathtaking. The side pleats, tucked into the waistband, create a striking volume. The oversized front pleat further enhances the fullness, resulting in extreme elegance.
Sewing Bonus: Designer Cut

SL010 is a Berlin-based brand that embraces a timeless style. The cuts are sophisticated, refined, and designed for women who appreciate both comfort and elegance.
A highly trendy yet undeniably timeless cut, the jumpsuit 130 features numerous utilitarian details such as straps, D-rings, and XL pockets. It works just as well in cotton, as shown here, or in satin for an evening look. This exclusive design can be found only in the print edition of your March magazine.
Trend: Romance All Over

This collection celebrates feminine, baroque elegance, enhanced by delicate pastel shades, airy fabrics, and refined details such as ruffles, puffed sleeves, and floral patterns. As a bonus, three DIY accessories made from ribbons and trim complete the looks.
The cardigan 112, with its fitted cut, charms with delicately puffed sleeves and pearl buttons. The waffle-knit fabric enhances the romantic feel. A clever touch: the pattern is highlighted in pink on the pattern sheet, and the instructions are detailed.
With its romantic charm, the dress 101, buttoned at the front, captivates with its refined details. The lovely frock is defined by white cotton lace, puffed sleeves, an elastic waist, and an elegant V-neckline.
