#MadeWithBurda: Nnenne's Linen Dress
To launch our new #MadeWithBurda series, we are proud to present you with this gorgeous linen dress for kids by Nnenne!
Nnenne's Sewing History
"I started sewing as a little girl. I learnt by watching my mom sew. I later went on to take some short courses at the London College of Fashion and also completed a diploma program at The Fashion Institute Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am currently a Burdastyle Certified Teacher."
The Creation
What pattern did you use?
An elegant look that is just like the grownups! This midi dress with the tying shoulder straps includes a full-length buttoning placket and oversized patch pockets that is sure to quickly become a favourite to pull from the wardrobe.
"I made this piece for my daughter's 9th birthday. It is sewn from seersucker gingham and took me between 1 and 5 hours to put together. I didn't make any adjustments, but I used a contrasting plain pink colour for the pocket flap. This piece was easy to put together, and I actually made a second version using ankara farbric a few years later. My daughter does a happy dance every time I make a new garment for her. She certainly did with this dress and she has worn it more times than any other garment I have made for her."
Bravo, Nnenne! Thank you for sharing your wonderful creation with us. We are truly inspired!
