The frock coat gets an update: This long blazer features surprising newly designed seam lines and precise piping along the pocket flaps and sleeve cuffs – and, of course, an unusual lapel collar.

"I loved the style and pattern of this model, and I decided to modify it a bit by adding a waist tab in back and hooks for closures. I also decided to embroider my initials on the inside. The embroidery messed up and I could not get anymore of the lining fabric, so I substituted with a different color and it turned out nicely! It is made from wool and velvet. I stopped counting after working on this project for over 20 hours, but I only had a little trouble with the collar and the back vent."

We are impressed, Jane! Thank you for sharing your lovely blazer with us. Want your creation featured on our website? Share your Burda project with us via the link below!
