Once you have completed the head with two rows of beads around, sew a large sew-on stone in the middle.
Create the eyes using beads and sequins, as shown. Sew everything securely and be sure knots are durable.
Sew small beads along the body and wing outlines by hand and secure them well.
Sew large sew-on stones at the inner body outline securely. Fill any spaces of the body with small beads.
Fill the wings with small beads until all spaces are covered.
Use 4 pieces of beading wire for insect legs (each apx. 5 cm/2 in) cut to length and thread the beads onto the wire. Poke the wire ends through the felt and secure them in place with fabric glue.
Finallly, cut a small bit of felt to use with the brooch pin and use the fabric glue to secure the pin onto the back side of the brooch.
Make up a bunch and use different colored beads and gems to match various outfits in your closet.
