CREATING
STEP 1
On the wrong side of the fabric, iron the Stylevil-Fix head pieces onto the wrong side of the two beach towel pieces (piece 21). Iron the Vliesofix pieces to the wrong side of the fabric head pieces. Pull off the paper and iron onto the head pieces made from Stylevil-Fix.
STEP 2
Place the towel pieces right sides together. Pin the top edges. Stitch the top edge from the outer edge to the slit symbol. Secure the seam ends. Press the allowances apart and at the slit to the inside.
STEP 3
Pin the zip under the slit and stitch close to the edge. Bind the seam allowances with bias binding.
STEP 4
For the strap, fold under and press each end of the webbing 2 cm (3/4 in). Pin the webbing ends to the outer towel piece (fabric II), matching the placement lines. Stitch. Open the zip.
STEP 5
Place the towels right sides together. Stitch the outer edges. Trim the seam allowances at the corners at an angle. Turn the piece inside out and press the edges.
STEP 6
On the top edge, stitch the pocket through all layers. Make sure that the layers do not shift. Topstitch the long edges and bottom edge, close to the edge.
STEP 7
Make ties (2 x approx. 55 cm (21 5/8 in) long): Press the bias binding in half, stitch the edges. Sew the binding pieces to the zip by hand at the beginning and end. Sew two bars, fold the ends under and stitch.
STEP 8
Make two thread loops at the top edge.
It's finished!
