DIY Perfume Carrier

Perfume Bag DIY Steps 1 2
Step 1: Press strap (c) Decovil Light onto the wrong side of the exterior fabric. Pin the right sides of the strap pieces together and sew along both long sides close to the interfacing. Step 2: Turn the strap with right sides facing out and topstitch along both long sides close to the edge.

Step 3: Press the bottom and top pieces (a) of Decovil I each onto the wrong side of the exterior pieces. Use the Vliesofix Bondaweb on the bottom to fuse together with to the exterior. Step 4: Clip the strap to the top (apx. 2 cm/7/8 in. away from the edge) and secure it in place on both sides with a crossed over stitching.

Step 5: Use leather glue to secure the mirror to the inside of the top and allow it to dry fully. Step 6: Press piece (b) of Decovil I onto (b) of lining fabric, then pin onto (b) of lining fabric (we did not yet cut back the seam allowances in this view)

Step 7: Stitch around the circle along the interfacing with a narrow stitch. Cut the seam allowances back to 1 cm, carefully clip to ease around. Step 8: Turn to the outside, pin well and stitch close to the edge along the inner edges (any excess fabric outside can be cut away) and stitch close to the edge to fix in place.

Step 9: Use leather glue to secure in the upper piece with the mirror from Step 5 and stitch in place along the outside close to the edge. Step 10: Press the Decovil Light onto the wrong sides of the exterior fabrics of the upper edge (d) and bottom edge (e). Sew both pieces (d) and (e) right sides facing with 1 cm allowance into a loop.

Step 11: Close the zipper with a piece of bias tape on the end, attach with hand stitching. Step 12: Press the seam allowances for the upper edge piece and sew the zipper in close to the edge. Then attach the bottom edge in place.

Step 13: Press Decovil Light onto lining piece (e). Attach elastic on the right side at about every 7 cm/ 2 3/4 in and secure it in place with an oversize 1 cm stitch individually. Step 14: Close the loop, right sides together with 1 cm. Press the upper edge in 1 cm, and sew the zipper pieces by hand. Close the edge (d) and secure it in place with hand stitching.

Step 15: Pin the top and bottom evenly around the edges with right sides facing and topstitch along 1 cm allowance. Step 16: Finish the seam allowances of the top and bottom with a bias tape.
