+ Leather + Vliesofix + Yarn + Key ring + Precision knife + Cutting mat + Ruler + Scissors + Template
Step 1: Draw template on Vliesofix and cut out. Step 2: Iron Vliesofix onto the leather and cut out again. Remove paper and iron leather (on LOW heat).
Step 3: Cut back excess leather completely. Step 4: Now cut the two lines using a precision knife and ruler.
Step 5: Edgestitch the leather around the two cut lines, using a leather needle. Step 6: Braiding: First, pull the bottom end of the key fob through the top of the right-hand notch.
Step 7: Then braid again starting at left side only braiding 3 times (ie left-right-left). Step 8: Then pull the lower end through the left cut. Repeat the process: weave right-left-right and pull right through the incision. The process must be repeated about 3 times, then automatically results in a closed braided tape.
Step 9: Fold the braided up (fix it with a clip if necessary) and stitch in place. Attach keyring. FINISHED! Giving a friend a house key? Make them one of these in their favorite color so they won't lose it! Happy DIYing!
