INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Cut out the bias strips approx. 6 x 50 cm (2 3/8 x 19 3/4 in). Please note that the seam allowance is already included! Fold the right sides together and topstitch the long side (long seam 50 cm, or 19 3/4 in) to 1 cm.

STEP 2

Trim the seam allowance to approx. 2 mm (1/8 in) and press apart. Turn right side out.

STEP 3

Pull the fabric strip over the Alice headband and close the two ends by hand.

STEP 4

Now bind the ends with grosgrain ribbon. To do so, wrap the grosgrain around the ends of the Alice headband and sew them by hand at the side.

STEP 5

Cut out the bias strips for the roses. Each should be 10 x 90 cm (4 x 35 1/2 in). Fold each bias strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together (= 5 cm, or 2 in).

Note: If you want smaller roses, simply cut a narrower bias strip.

STEP 6

Sew gathering stitches with your sewing machine (along the open side) and carefully gather to form a rose.

Secure the ends well.

STEP 7

Now sew the 7 individual roses onto the Alice headband by hand.

It's finished!
