Instructions
STEP 1
Fold the pleats in the direction of the arrow on the outer handbag pieces and baste in place. Pin outer pieces to the inside handbag pieces, wrong side to right side, and stitch 0.5 cm (1/4 in) to fix in place.
STEP 2
Stitch the zipper to the top edges of the handbag pieces. Open the zipper. Stitch the pieces together at the curve, right sides together.
STEP 3
Stitch the long edges of the strap, right sides together. Press the seam allowance apart. Turn the strap inside out and press the seam at the center.
STEP 4
Stitch the strap ends to the top of the handbag between the short edges (the strap is on the inside and the strap seam will later be at the bottom). If you want knots, tie them before stitching the strap and slide them to the desired position.
STEP 5
Close the lining at the curve. At the remaining edges, press the allowance inward. Pull the lining wrong sides together over the handbag and sew on by hand. Then turn the bag right side out.
All done !
