- Wool, fleece fabric, or sweatshirt fabric
- Sewing thread

- 1 meter Ø4 mm elastic cord
- Vilene
- Safety pin

Cutting Out

Sewing Your Project
STEP 1
Make a buttonhole on each balaclava piece, reinforcing the reverse side with Vilene. Carefully slit the buttonholes using a quick-cutting knife.
STEP 2
Place the two pieces right sides together. Stitch the front and back seams. Topstitch the seam allowances using a serger. You can also use the overlock stitch on your sewing machine, or double-fill the seam allowances and stitch.
STEP 3
Fill in the 1.5 cm hem allowance and cover stitch. Alternatively, overcast the hem allowance, fold it to the wrong side, press, and stitch.
STEP 4
Do the same thing to the neckline seam allowance to form the drawstring casing.
STEP 5
Using the safety pin, thread the cord through the casing and secure the cord ends.
