STEP 1
Cut pieces: 1 x 48 cm (19 in), 2 x 28 cm (11 in), 2 x 32 cm (12.5 in), 2 x 36 cm (14.25 in), 2 x 40 cm (15.75 in), 2 x 44 cm (17.5 in), 2 x 52 cm (20.5 in) long. Fold all pieces in half lengthwise, press. Pin the first band (14 cm/ 5.5 in) as shown on the template onto the middle band (24 cm/ 9.5 in) and stitch in place.
STEP 2
Pin the opposite side piece of the band (14 cm/ 5.5 in) as shown on the template and stitch close to the edge onto the middle strip. The open strip ends should always be placed along the middle strip.
STEP 3
Place the two ribbon ends together, right sides facing and stitch diagonally together.
STEP 4
Press the "corner" open and pin it in place over the middle strip and pin in place.
STEP 5
Begin with the next row (placing doubled 16 cm/6.25 in), pinning in place. Continue the process with the remaining strips in ascending lengths as explained in steps 2–4 (always beginning from the left).
STEP 6
Place the last two strips (26 cm/ 10.25 in) around the edge of the middle strip and pin in place.
STEP 7
Stitch down the middle length of the strip (so that all of the individual loops are fixed in place through the middle).
STEP 8
Stitch the middle of the elastic to the back side. On one end of the elastic sew a small loop. On the other end secure a clasp (for adjustable neck widths) and hook.
FINISHED!
A strong cut and a delicate fabric give an elegant flair to the this blouse with the hidden button placket and an extra long back panel that has the look of a walking skirt. The semi-transparent plumetis is very feminine and compliments this plastron well.
