Beautiful blooms - wire and beads combine beautifully here for a pair of blossom earrings perfect for springtime outfits.
Materials
- "Happy Jig" peg board kit
- Side cutting pliers
- Aluminum craft wire,
- Earring hooks
- Beading wire,
- Beads
- Beading needle
- Nylon thread
- Hammer
STEP 1
Press the cap pegs into the peg board to the shape you prefer (alternatively, you can shape by hand).
STEP 2
Bend the aluminum wire around the pegs to shape the five petals. Attach the earring hook onto one petal for each earring by threading it onto the blossom.
STEP 3
Cut back any extra wire at the beginning and end of the blossom leaving enough to knot it in the middle by hand (using the hammer to flatten, if needed).
STEP 4
Using the nylon thread, make a row of beads (apx. 5 cm/2 in). Cap the end with a slightly larger seed bead and thread the nylon back through the row and knot it securely onto the blossom middle.
STEP 5
Repeat the previous step 3-times to create different lengths. Finally, make a row of beads onto the fine craft wire (apx. 20 cm/8 in).
STEP 6
Wrap the wire with the beads around the center of the blossom and knot the wire ends together securely.
FINISHED!
Have fun with different wire and bead colors to make a bunch of different earring styles for yourself and all your friends.
