DIAGRAM

Draft the following diagrams for the outer and inner pot holder. All measurements are in cm. Draw either directly on the fabric or on a separate piece of paper to sew multiple holders!
STEP 1

Cut out 57 x 57 cm (22 1/2 x 22 1/2 in): 1x a from the outer fabric, 1x b from the lining.
STEP 2

Fold each side seam in a row, right sides together, and topstitch. Next, trim the seam allowances to 1 cm (3/8 in) and press.
STEP 3

Fold the edge inward 7 cm (2 3/4 in) and press, pin the trim on upside down and stitch around the entire edge.
STEP 4

Copy the dimensions of lining b onto the waxed canvas and mark the centres with straight pins to make it easier to fold together.
STEP 5

Fold each of the 4 side seams, stitch, and trim the seam allowances to 1 cm (3/8 in) (as you did for the outer fabric in step 2).
STEP 6

Pin the edges of the lining to the outer fabric edges, right sides together. Stitch 1 cm (3/8 in) from the edge, leaving an opening of approx. 6 cm (2 3/8 in) for turning inside out.
STEP 7

Turn the cachepot inside out through the opening and then sew the opening shut by hand.
