This is not your average beach towel! Here we show you how to make one complete with fringe, flamingos, and an absorbant terry backing.
- Fabric with flamingo print
- Terry cloth
- Fringe trim
- Tape measure
- Trick marker
- Straight pin
- Hand sewing needle
Cut out outer fabric 1.01 x 1.01 m (39 3/4 x 39 3/4 in) and fold twice (right side will be inside). With the tape measure, draw the quarter circle with a radius of 50.5 cm (19 7/8 in).
Cut out quarter-circle (with all 4 fabric layers) along the line. This will result in a full circle with a 1.01 m (39 3/4 in) diameter.
Pin the outer fabric onto a rectangle of terry (1.01 x 1.01 m (39 3/4 x 39 3/4 in))
Next, stitch around the circle 0.5 cm (1/4 in) from the edge, leaving an opening of ap-prox. 15 cm (6 in)
Now trim the terry all around the circle.
Turn the beach towel inside out through the opening and press flat. Now sew up the opening by hand.
Pin the fringe border to the edge and stitch to the beach towel.
You can make this beach towel smaller or larger, as you like. To do so, simply adjust the radius.
Match to your bathing suit and accessories to be ready to be comfortable and matching at the beach or pool.
