This pattern was a contender for bridesmaid dresses for my best friends wedding, but we chose a ready made dress instead due to the lack of decent fabric in my area. The other bridesmaid still wants me to make this dress for her so I thought I would do a test run out of black linen, it turned out perfect. I plan to add pockets to the dress and it still hasn’t been hemmed yet (that’s why it looks really long in the photos). Of course the open back of this dress is what makes it.

I made a similar one in black charmeuse (spelling?) with a single flower pattern. My friend, whom I made this for, is conservative, so I altered the back by bringing it up higher. Will post my picture soon. I fell in love with this pattern when I saw it on Vogue patterns.com. Good job!

i keep going back and forth on whether or not to buy this pattern…but I love it! I hate going braless…. I think I still have to have it and figure something out ;)

Exquisite! So classy! I could never wear it, because I cannot live without a bra. I need proper bras, not the ones with the plastic straps at the back. Did you have this problem with your bridesmaids??

The dress was made for a friend who lives out of state. I’m not sure how the bra thing will go for her, she’s not big busted & young (21), she shouldn’t have a problem wearing it.

Always liked this pattern from Vogue. You made a lovely dress in black and I think you could do this one also in all kind of bright flower fabrics for the coming summer.great dress.

Thanks, yes it still needs to be hemmed, I made this dress for a friend…waiting to see how much I’ll have to hem it, probably a lot.

Wonderful! Is the bow a sew-on, is it a tie-bow? I made a dress like this with a sew-on-bow, and it just kept falling down..

The tie is sewn into the strap on both sides.
