This is one of three bellydance costumes that I made for a show my daughters did. The theme of the show was America, which is why I used the red, white and blue colors. The top and hip yoke are red velvet and the skirt is a white chiffon. The top buttons in the back and the skirt zips on the side. I adorn the outfit with hand sewn sequins and bead trims. I did use a pattern which I altered to give the desired look.
Red Velvet, white chiffon, 4 covered buttons, white zipper, red thread, white thread, sequins and more sequins.

Me, for staying up for 48 hours straight to get them done in time for the show!

Yay! I’m so glad you have built more costumes like you wanted :D I’m honored to have inspired you! It looks very well made- what silly nonsense that it’s not on ‘my level’ :P The only difference between it and a “professional quality costume” is mountains of bling. The well fitting and well made base is the biggest part of the challenge! After that it’s just how much sparkle can you stand ;) I think it’s perfect for the show you describe. Wish I could recruit my mom to sew some of my costumes, hehe… * dreams of dance costume sweatshops filled with well meaning moms*
