I used Jacci Jaye’s Corset Pattern for this project and kinda winged it – I read in the comments lots of people had difficulties with the instructions, so I thought they would just confuse me and used the pictures in the instructions as a guide. Worked pretty well, actually. I am totally pleased with the result! I messed up the lining, but oh well, I was way too impatient to do it properly and don’t really care since nobody will see it and I’m too perfectionist to start with.
I used brick-red satin, polkadot tulle, satin bias tape, satin ribbon (for hiding the seams) and hook-and-eye tape on the outside and black lining fabric.
I wrote more about the corset on my blog
i was constantly listening to “Girls like you” by The Naked and Famous while making this, hence the name. I’ll wear this outfit at the theatre premiere for a play by Shakespeare I’ll attend on saturday, looking so forward to it!

Corset-power!!!!
Congratulations on taking up this sewing project. Undergarments are less common, and truly can make a nice outfit become a show stopper.
You did a terrific job, and the fact you will wear it is the ultimate success.

Thank you so much! I’m so happy people really seem to like it, I think that makes me even more comfortable wearing it. :)
