This is my tulip-tulip skirt… I used the free Marie pattern.
The tulip fabric was a bargain and I had about 1 yard only, so it was an easy decision to make a skirt of it.
I found the idea “tulip skirt with tulips” funny and here is the result. The patern was super easy.
My skirt has an elastic lining.
I modified the Marie-pattern a little bit, I took the back of thunderlilly’s pencil skirt-pattern, because I wanted the pleats only in the front.

Thank you so much. I was surprised by the effect myself; I only was curious how the tulip-tulip idea would turn out, but of course I also worried about this beautiful fabric. That is right: it could have been tragic.

Yes the tulip-tulip is humorous, but you managed to make that concept (which could have been tragic) so amazingly elegant! This is so witty and unique!

Yes, I do. I never liked tulip skirts, but I’m surprised how perfect this pattern fits. Mostly I have the fabric first and then I consider, what I can sew with it.

Hello peppit, I found this at EBAY but it’s a German seller. Many times I am online for “hunting” those fabrics, but the time is always worth it. Some people have luck on markets – we have those frequently in Germany, many retailers come there from Netherlands etc. – but I enjoy internet more:-) Of course there is a risk, because you can`t feel and see the fabric in advance, but mostly I’m happy with my bargains!
