I bought this old ladies jacket from my local salvos (for $2.75 on sale!). Remade into a cute mini-skirt!
I got my inspiration from, and mostly followed the “Suit Skirt” from “Little Green Dresses” – what an amazing book!
The book suggests getting a jacket that fits around the hips / waist – wherever you want it to sit – this one was too big for me, so extra work was required to make it fit, however, the result was worth it!
Without the extra work for fitting, It is pretty much as simple as measure (from the bottom), cut, attach waist-band (and fastening), and done! – quick and easy, and good for the environment! (The top of the jacket will be edited too! … later)
Suit jacket from salvos: Outer 65% cotton, 35% polyester; Assume lining is polyester – it was nasty for my old janome :-(
