These are two of the garments from my 2011 Fall Palette Challenge. I’ve made four items so far and only been able to photograph two of them (thank you, Brenna!).
The skirt comes from Vivat Veritas’ free pattern on Grosgrain Fabulous. I was so excited about the scalloped waistband, so eager to try it, and then it looked terrible. I feel like it’s because I used wool? I don’t know, the damn thing wouldn’t press, wouldn’t work out, looked wretched, so I ripped it out and put in a regular plain waistband. Sigh. The best laid plans….
The shirt is an Ute, man, do I love that pattern, in cotton shirting. The only alteration I made was to lengthen the sleeves by 3 inches. I should have lengthened them more, sigh again. An outfit of regrets….
Still, I think it’s pretty cute. See more photos and text on my blog!
