A short and pretty simple project.. I’ve added a bit of mori-girl style to it using polka dots and lace. Pattern from a Japanese sewing book called Tenugui Rimeiku Komono.

I keep coming back to these. I must admit I found them a bit creepy at first but I bet they feel lovely on! Full marks for originality :-)

=) thanks Janene, but unfortunately, I’m not the creator of the Japanese tabi socks. They are actually traditional footwear worn when dressed in the kimono. I guess the creepiness level wouldn’t be that high if I’d worn it with the geta sandals… =P
And yep, they are comfortable!

are they wearable as socks? i mean, they are probably more like slippers or..?

Hi, tejka. They are actually Japanese socks , usually worn with Kimono and the Japanese sandals.
They do make pretty good ‘room shoes’ during winter if made from some kind of wool or other thick material though. =)
