This was my first big first sewing project ever, I made it in July of last year (2009). It was really intimidating at the beginning, but I’m very happy with the end product. It’s just how I wanted it, and fits well. It’s an alteration of New Look 6676. I added a waist band, and made the skirt fuller and gathered instead of an A-line. The bodice is fully lined, with an attached shorter underskirt.

This is the type of stuff I want to make. May I ask what sewing machine you use? I am wanting to buy one and I am not sure what kind to get

My machine is an old Pfaff 7570, but I’m not sure they make that model anymore. Honestly though, it’s pretty finicky. The tension gets messed up a lot and it’s complicated to thread, but lawdy does it sew beautifully. If you’re a beginner I would recommend something a little easier to use, though. I can’t offer any suggestions, as this is the only machine I’ve ever had, but you should definitely look at Pfaff or Singer. :) Good luck!
