“Admittedly, this is not the most exciting skirt ever! But I think it’ll be a good staple, something that will compliment a lot of different tops. I made it out of a thrifted-thrifted skirt – yea, I re-made it twice. The skirt originally came from a second hand store, and I tried to make it a bubble skirt. I didn’t follow a tutorial – I just decided to pull the hem up under the waist… which made the waist about a half an inch thick – NOT so attractive, but I thought “Oh I’ll just stuff it all under this big black belt and it’ll be cool”… ehh.. I dunno, it was cute but not all that wearable." – from the post on my blog
Used Simplicity pattern #2451.
Thrifted skirt, probably cotton/lightweight denim

hey bethanyb, i believe your skirt was what made me buy the pattern! hahaha.. anyway, i have a rather burning question to ask u.. did u follow the sizing on the envelope or on the tissue paper? coz my envelope says Hips 36 inches = Size 12, but the tissue says Hips 37 inches = Size 4… I’m kinda confused T_T" Hope you’ll be able to help me?

I absolutely love the final result! It looks very elegant and flirt-y at the same time and you did an excellent job, I think!

I love this skirt, very trendy and very now. I love how casual it is since you did it in the denim color.

I think it looks great! I see nothing wrong with the hem. The fact that you chose to hem and not blind hem only makes it a bit more casual and young.

Thanks!! I didn’t even consider the blind hem (mostly bc I’d have to change foots, lol) so I’m glad you said that!
