Drafted from my 1940’s butterwick pattern, this is the stripey fabric i bought origianlly to go with the full dress, but ended up usuing the lion king ned sheet instead.
Sewed this one morning, and have been wearing it…maybe ever since.
Gave it a little cut open back, naturally a couple of bows, and some pretty little bottons. The red front bow is detacable, and i made a bow to match in my hair, however not wearing it in these pics.
I hand hemed the bottoms and put in two tucks in the sleeves. I think this dress will be great for spring and summer :) im kinda in love with the back

The detail on the sleeve is amazing! Mixing fabrics with similar patterns in different sizes is often a good idea.

Interesting use of 2 striped fabrcs – strangely I have just purchased 2 striped fabrics – but in burgundy – I thought of a shirt for myself ? Navy and white is always fashionable. I love that the back of the garment makes such an impact – sort of after you’ve passed !
