My sister was asked to be a bridesmaid for her friend’s wedding, and I was roped in to make the dress.
I don’t often make clothes for other people, so there were a few moments of frustration where our creative opinions differed!
I’ve never attempted boning before, but it ended up being a lot easier than I anticipated.
There are going to be five bridesmaids and my sister wanted to be a little bit unique, so we made the organza petticoat. When she dances and twirls, you can see the blue, but otherwise it can’t be seen.
My sister is very excited, and loves her dress.
Raw silk, lining, boning (rigilene), and blue organza.

Hi All, and thanks for the lovely comments. The boning I used was Rigilene boning. That’s just the polyester one and apparently the cheapest. But also the only one available here in the backwaters of South Africa!
