Here is my summer challenge !My neighboor asked me to make her a dress for her brother’s wedding… Imagine the pressure…Having read a lot of Burda magazines, she chose the pattern 124 from the Burda 11/2011 in a purple taffetas “silk Dupion”.A quite simple pattern made with a 4-pieces adjusted tube-top (front & back) & adjusted skirt with a middle “skittle” and completely lined. The beauty of this dress is especially because of the folds “like a sun” that highlight the waist and the nice neckline !!So here i go ….first time to be so stressed, i checked everything twice : drawings, cut ; i even shaked for the invisible zip setting !After many fittings, some adjustments and also reducing the “skittle” size, the dress was quite finished. Only the hem left to make, swagged of course ! Some miles of thread later, here it is !!!!
