The latest addition to my fall wardrobe, a parka.
The only changes I made to the pattern were slimming down the sleeves and adding brass hardware to the waist draw string to keep everything in place.
All the details, some rambling and more pictures on my blog.
cotton gabardine & shirting, buttons, brass hardware

Thanks, it’s actually a pretty good pattern, comes together smoothly though the instructions for the swallow tail back are s***. But it has many great design details, it’s a basic piece but with a lot of visual interest.

Do it, do it, do it! Imagine how many times you can wear a selfsewn coat, much more often than a skirt or dress because it’s outerwear. It’s a lot of fun to make and actually my favorite thing to sew by now.
