What a gentleman! This simple, lined, 2-piece waistcoat will make your youngster look fresh as vinyl.
Shell: Corduroy, colored denim, suitings, velvet, seersucker, etc. Vintage home furnishings fabric like barcloth or Dr. Pepper-printed canvas could be cute, and don’t forget the textured doubleknit polyesters. Keep in mind: you’re sewing for a kid, so it’s gotta be washable. Lining and back: Get a washable nylon or poly lining fabric for the back and inner lining. Feeling capricious? Get a lightweight shirting for the inner lining, like a Liberty print or gingham check. Check the remnant bins, cos a half-yard of each will do it

Thanks to user Looples80 for noticing an outage in the instructions. I’ve corrected the instructions and re-uploaded. I hope it hasn’t caused any hassles. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are having problems or notice anything amiss. And thanks to all for making the Orlando; hard to believe but the pattern’s namesake is now 4!

Cara, try now. I’ve reposted it again. Not sure what happened. Please ping me directly if you can’t see it and sorry for the delay in response. I really appreciate that so many sewers like this pattern.

Any chance someone could email me the pattern? I can’t get it from the web site…
Let me know if you can and I will give my email address.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, This pattern is great but I was wondering what 2T and 3T mean? What sort of sizes are these for? As I’m hoping to make my 9 month old nephew his christening outfit and was hoping to use this pattern, even if I have to scale it down. Do you have any tips of grading the pattern for smaller sizes? (Sorry, fairly new to sewing) Thanks

This was a super simple super awesome vest. I made it girly by adding some pockets and a bow and it worked out well. Thank you so much for sharing this! I don’t know how to add a picture but here is a link…

This is my son wearing his orlando waistcoat for a family wedding, the trousers were also from a pattern on this site (melanie I think). I used red fabric for the lining and back, as the fabric had a red pinstripe to it. He also loves to wear the beige corderoy version I made with his denim shirt. A gorgeous and very simple pattern.

Oh yeah! Got some black & white striped fabric left, from chita skirt I made, I’m going to make him a Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) version) lol. Also made a red velvet one with white overlocked edges for Christmas.
