(A project I made some months ago, playing catch up here on Burdastyle.)This is the Oolong dress from Colette Patterns, an easy to sew bias-cut dress with no closures to fuss about! I used a floral coral-colored cotton lawn from Sew LA Fabric online and I lined it with Bemberg rayon for a super smooth feel. I have to admit, I’m not that crazy about the flowers as they’re a bit bigger than they looked online, but it gets compliments so that’s nice :)
There’s gathering at center bust and I think the next time I make this I’d like to add a little bow or something similar at the neckline, as the pattern instructions suggest. The dress is designed so that there are no exposed seams on the inside so it looks just as nice and tidy as the outside. The dress size on this pattern runs small, I had to go up 2 sizes at the bust as compared to other patterns I’ve tried from Colette.
The dress is easy to sew; the longest process is cutting the pieces out and letting them hang overnight (since they are all cut on the bias). Definitely recommend this one and I plan to make more!
Cotton lawn for the shell with a Bemberg lining. No closures.
