I’m calling this dress the NSFW dress, not that it was ever mean’t to be worn to work ;)
I LOVE this fabric which I got in Wellington, it’s a beautiful quality cotton boarder print and that’s what saved this dress which I picked apart 4 times an eventually redesigned almost from scratch because it just looked terrible on me! The last two pics show you how the original pattern was meant to look and how it looked on me :( ugh!
So not everything always goes to plan…anyway, I stuck with it and now I love it and I learned a valuable lesson. You’re thinking it’s that I should have made a muslin but the actual lesson I learnt was that if I stick with it and think through each problem, don’t give up, I can come out of it with a dress I really like.
See how I saved this monstrosity on my blog
