No Pattern Pocahontas Costume

Added Oct 24, 2010

by ellohdesign

Portland, Oregon...

Based on the Disney character’s outfit in the movie and created without a pattern – my very first self-designed project. Only took two other tries with the main body of the dress to get my measurements correct in the shoulder and sleeve size. Also my first experience with a buttonhole. Very excited to show off this one!!

Material Notes

stretchy polyester for the main dress part, linen for the fringe and a really thick woven cotton for the belt.

How much stretch polyester did you buy? I really want to do this for halloween this year! Love it! Hope you respond soon!

This looks great-I’m so impressed! I’m going to try to make a Pocahontas costume for my sister’s party next month-you definitely inspired me to undertake it!
