I thought the Nichola pants were too tailored for me, but I love your more casual treatment, and they look great on you.

it looks great with the waistband! and I´m jealous that you find a such a linen fabric. I can´t find something like that right now here in the shops. Linen pants are so useful in the summer!

Ale.b, it is a regular zipper. If you have a bit left over fabric you can remove the waistband and do this: you only need a not very wide strip ( I cut what I had left along the selvage) and little scraps for the drawstrings: I used a bit of elastic sewed in between.

Thanks for your nice comments!! I messed the waistband and had to do the drawsting thing. It is easy and it was a life saver. I removed initially about one inch from the outside of the pattern and I fitted them as I sewed. I am very happy with them but they made me suffer :) a bit.

I really like your version.
I should have done the same too, I wasn’t satisfied at all with how my nichola came out. did you leave the zipper or is it just a “hidden pleat” (?) ?

These fit you brilliantly! Nice job on the waistband.
