This is a very easy to make skirt, perfect for a beginner. Also great for anyone who has a party to go to but nothing to wear. . .and and hour or two to spare before hand. . . and some fabric.
You will need about 1 2/3 yards (1.5 meters) of fabric. If you are using a stretch fabric, you will not need a zipper. If you are using a woven or non-stretchy fabric, you will need a 6” or 7” (15 to 17 cm) invisible zipper. You will also need a ruler and tailors chalk or pen. You might also want a party planned for tonight, because you are definitely going to want somewhere to wear this immediately.

i would really like to make it and i read your description pdf. i’m a very beginner. how did you come up with width for the pieces, as written in step 4?
i mean can i use more cloth in width if i want more volume and foldings for the skirt or will i get into trouble when gathering the material into the waistband? i’m going to use a light chiffon.
