Kuala Lumpur, Ma...
I saw the design inspiration for this when i was searching for designs on cowl neck before making my zebra print tunic. Since i wanted to make one for my DD. Cowl neck on kids clothing is not that common, but i liked this one a lot. This is also my first attempt at draping technique on my DD’s clothes.
I guess there is a commercial pattern available for this, albeit not so in India, so i make my own patterns, in fact enjoy drafting them as much as i do sewing, may be even more at times. I don’t remember the pattern but search for cowl neck + kids frock, i am sure you will get it in case you want to find it out.
Dress is fully lined and has invisible zipper at center back. I plan to make 2 more belts for this dress using different trims; my DD loves belts!
I plan to do a tutorial on how i drafted this one, in case there are takers for it, but one catch though, i will be able to do it only after completing my navarathri collection of 9 dresses, of which 2 completed and 7 to go still… for those interested you can view my current Navarathri collection here
