This is my entry for the Apron Remake Challenge. The two tones that I used are red polka dot fabric and plain white fabric. The apron is red polka dot with white piping and white backed ties which you can see in the bow photo. I used white thread to contrast with the red fabric and match the white accents. I kept the three panels shown in the tutorial, but changed the shorter length and rounded shape to be similar to an apron that my sister had at her house. I made the edges of the pockets and the top of the ties heart shaped. I think this apron would be perfect for a waitress in a cute old fashioned diner.
Thick cotton.

Cute indeed! Well done on the topstitching and piping, they look really neat and make it really special. May I ask, was the piping difficult to do?

Thanks! The piping wasn’t too bad. I just made sure to press all the parts thoroughly before sewing them together. I have to admit that I cheated a bit on the pockets as the piping was sewed on the back after the scallops were made rather than in between the scallops (it probably would have been a beast to do it the other way).
