I love vintage styles, especially faux fur, so in search of the perfect faux fur capelet, I did not find anything satisfactory so I decided to make my own.
This is a non sleeve, capelet with a fur tie at collar.
I have worn it a few times already, and it keeps me so warm and is complimentary to my wardrobe. I love it!
I purchased 2 yards of this material from my local Joann’s store. I used medium/ heavy weight interfacing on collar, and used an old satin sheet as the lining material.
I drafted out the shape and size in which I wanted the capelet to be along with the collar.
In order to get the perfect half rounded neckline when cutting, I traced a can of tuna on paper and cut it in half then pinned it to fur before cutting.
