Description

I made 18 of these costume for our senior modern group for the recent eisteddofd we went to. 16 were worn. They are a 1 shoulder leotard with seperate skirt. Each skirt has 12 panels to it and is sewn into a band that is gathered and the side and front. Thank goodness I didn’t have to sequin all 18 of them!
Ended up with 5 different sizings for them all!
I also did headpieces but you can’t see these in the picture.

Material Notes

Nylon lycra, nylon stretch mesh, cotton lycra, nylon lining, elastic.

I modified a basic leotard pattern for these ones so yeah I guess it was my own pattern. Unfortunately I have took no pictures when making them so no pictures for a how to… Next time I make a leotard I will be sure to take some. I will see what I can do.

I absolutly love the costumes. Did you use a premade pattern or your own? I would love to make these. Could you do a how to on this too? I’m currently working on the tutu you did a how to on. So far I’ve been able to follow the directions.

Wow, such dedication. This must have been a huge amount of work. The end result is very pretty.

Dance costumes are hard, probably because they have to look perfect or they will appear sloppy. These are wonderful!

Wow! What respect I have for you! I have sewn dance costumes in the past and it is difficult to get all the sizes right and all the time it takes to sew them is a day and night job. Congratulations on your beautiful creations, all 18 of them!
