So, I bought the fabric for this dress, a Liberty print in pink and brown, for a short style. I then realised that it was way too beautiful to be cut up into smaller pieces so had to scrimp a maxi out of what I had!
I made it based on Simplicity 8495, but made the neckline v-shaped and added separate straps (to conserve fabric!)
I also slimmed down the skirt for the same reason. I also wanted a more definted waist so I folded some brown fabric, hand-sewed down each fold and used it to make a waistband. I left a slit in the leg for walking, and lined the whole thing down to knee length.
I’m happy with the result, and will try to upload some nicer photos when it’s had its first outing!

It’s really pretty and well done for getting the most out of the fabric..

Beautiful fabric and I love the brown waist with the tuck details. Lovely!
