This skirt is so full that it swings with every step. Combine it with some cool boots and a cowboy shirt and you will look like you are just missing your horse.

Watch out if you’re short-waisted! I had to remove the waistband, cut some off the top and then reattach the waistband.

I might be missing something obvious, but can this skirt actually be used in the larger pattern sizes?
For the sizes toward the higher end, the pattern is too wide for 60" wide fabric.
For example,
Pattern piece for front & back skirt is to be cut on fold. It is 35" wide at widest point. This would require a 70" wide fabric, which is basically unavailable.
Has anyone tried this pattern in the larger size range? Is there something I’m missing that would make the layout work on 60" wide fabric?

Hey burdawallahs, please post a photo of the waistline on this skirt without a belt or anything else covering it up. It seems from the pics people have posted of completed skirts (and on the broadcloth mock I’m making up at the moment) that the lack of curvature in the waist band is giving a funny fit at the waist. I think a rectangular waistband is fine for low waisted stuff but since this skirt sits so high the waistline seems to actually emphasize ‘bumps and lumps’ i.e. narrow at the centre and pouffy outwards thereafter-not an awesome silhouette … =S On the finished projects part this seems to show more on the skirts made with thin/clingy fabrics.. Maybe I’ll try it a size bigger than my true waist size..or alter it to sit at the hips instead of the waist…
