I learned a lot (technics) by sewing this dress, but I didn’t like the idea of this special zipper so I just used a normal one.
I worked through the pattern as told. Just had take in the shoulders, but it’s my usual matter with being to short in the upper body.
I’m happy how it turned out, it fits good but it’s more classic than I wanted, I just wanted a simple romantic summer dress. Anyway, now I can use this dress for a wedding where I’m invited.
Added a fabric belt for waist definition.

Love this dress and the “classic” look! Did you get invited to a wedding in the end? ;-)

Thank you!
Yes, I wore it in summer to a wedding, and some other festive occasions.

Very pretty! Isn’t it aggravating that even when patterns claim they are for petites that the shoulders need altering? And sometimes taking in the shoulders changes the shape of the neck. This one looks just right!

Thanks!
Yes, indeed, I always have problems with too long shoulders, even in shops I can’t buy dresses because it doesn’t fit on the shoulder part.
But that’s a reason I like sewing – you create selfe & you can rework things when it’s needed! :-)
Since now I didn’t had problems with changes in the shape, but thats always the reason I don’t buy a not perfect fitting dress – when it’s not selfmade altering is hard and brings to much changes to the shape, . . .

It’s really pretty and feminine, and a sash tie is lovely detail! Beautiful job :)
