This beautiful soft floral cotton-blend was on my to-sew-list for a while… but I was indecisive what to match it with! By chance a piece of navy lace ended with this floral in the stash…and I realised that navy was my perfect match :) I found a very high quality navy knit. and was super excited to start sewing! Next the pattern… the Sadie has been a favourite of mine ever since I first saw it… but whoops… it was December holidays and I was without my usual office and printing facilities… but I really REALLY wanted to make a Sadie… so I had to draft the pattern myself (I’m no good at this!!!). I’ve based the knit top on the Lydia t-shirt.. with some modifications (sleeveless, shirring for a V-shape) and draft the skirt pattern myself. I love the combined textures and patterns in one dress (it is one dress – not so visible with the belt I’m wearing here!). It was fun holiday sewing (and wearing)!! Its not exactly the same as the Sadie.. I’d try the real pattern sometime soon, but for now its like a Sadie!
