I fell in love with this fabric when I went to Amsterdam a couple of years ago. I bought a tote made from it, but ever since I’ve been searching for it. A couple of months ago a lovely Etsy member bought this fabric in Amsterdam for me. I’m soooo excited. I love this coat. It turned out just as I wanted and I can’t wait to make the matching dress. I used the Talea and Alden patterns, made it a bit shorter, different pockets, left off half the collar, split the back into wings and added a hood.

I really love what you have done here! Is there any way you could tell us how you made the hood?

Looks very original. I see a lot of that kind of fabrics every day, but I never thought to use them for making the clothes. This is fun. Great work.

Very nice. The wings are wonderful. I can’t wait to see your next creation with this fabric.

I also love the fabric. It’s such a great coat for wearing with jeans. Never take it off!

Like David Bowie in The Man who fell to earth! Space oddity incarnated, indeed…. utterly Original!
