This dress may look familar to some of y’all, as I posted it here a long time ago with a single photo that was taken at an awkward angle. The fashion club at school just did a photo shoot recently and got some sweet shots of the dress, so I thought I would re-post with the better photographs.
Overall, this dress was inspired by the healing of the land, homes, and people follow the Katrina disaster. It was made for a fashion show in 2009 and is the companion to my other Katrina raincoat dress.
The girl lurking in the background in the third dress is another original design – look for it soon! (It’s made out of garbage and grocery bags!!)
All materials were recycled – old curtains (skirt), a purse (sequins) and found in my mom’s stash of fabrics. The photos were taken at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, WA – you should check it out if you’re ever in town!

Such a beautiful dress! And the great photographs really compliment it. The skirt has great movement and the simple style really brings out the detailing. Really lovely.
