Newton Le Willow...
100% cotton batik, cost 99p for the meter off ebay bargain!
I used butterick vintage pattern 4049 for this dress.
It was pretty straight forward to sew, I machined the outer and hand stitched the matching lining in place.
It closes to the center back with 3 press studs.
I used elastic in the under spool on my machine to finish the sleeves and had a multi coloured metallic thread on top. It is also hemmed with the metallic thread.
My 2 year old daughter likes this dress so much that she sat at the side of me and took off her clothes so she could put this dress on as soon as i had finished sewing the press studs in place today. Guessing thats a pretty good sign that she’s happy with the results. :-)
1 meter cotton batik, 3 press studs, elastic, metallic thread.
