I thought it would be fun to see if I could make a flared skirt entirely out of “J” shaped pieces of fabric. So I drafted up a “J” shape, cut six of them on the bias of a light-weight flowy fabric and stitched them up. It was a pain to sew, and a bear to hem. In the end, I cut off the hem and sealed the edge with quilter’s fray-check. I stabilized the waist by lining it with another, more stable fabric, also cut on the bias. It didn’t turn out great, but I like it enough that I’ll probably re-work it to make it lay nicer and might actually wear it eventually.

This is nice. I love flowy skirts. The print and colors are great and goes perfect with style. Post the redo. Although from the pics there’s nothing wrong with it now!

I like it very much. The fabric is gorgeous. Bias skirts always hang so nicely.
