Step 1 Create Pattern and Cut Fabric for New Cover

Img_7996_large

My old cover was gathered underneath the board with a narrow cord that was stitched around – both through and on top of – the folded edge of binding on the cover. I loosened the cord to lay the old cover flat, so I could use it as a pattern. I laid it on top of my new cover fabric and drew a line right around it on the fabric. I cut the new cover fabric on that line.
