It was love at first sight. When the new spring Simplicity collection arrived in stores, I knew 1873 would be mine – it was just the pattern I’d been dreaming of. From designer Cynthia Rowley, it’s a simple fitted bodice, with a scooped neckline, and a full, box-pleated skirt. How feminine! How flattering! How perfect for spring! Even better, I had just the fabric for it, a lovely cotton eyelet I’d been hoarding in my stash since last summer.
Lined with white linen, the eyelet really made this the perfect spring dress. I can dress it up or down and that full skirt is just so fun to wear! I think Simplicity 1873 may be my new go-to pattern. More pictures and construction details can be found at my blog, Idle Fancy.
