This is the long sleeve shirt I made for my boyfriend’s birthday. I took the pattern from one of his shirts and added rib knit (the first time ever). I wanted to make it somehow special and got inspired by Hitchcocks „The Birds“ (the movie on DVD was my second present). I made a lot of bird-stencils and airbrushed them on the shirt with textile paint. It was really a lot of work and I’m glad I finished it in time. I was so afraid he wouldn’t like it, but he does, he wore it already :)
jersey (cotton and viscose maybe?) and some rib knit

Looks very cool, you should look into screenprinting, its not very expensive to buy a screen (usually $25 or so) and you could have done all those birds and the tree in one swipe of the squeegee instead of airbrushing each one. Nice Job!

this is so nice. Complete success – the airbrushing is wonderful. I had such a hard time with jersey, but your work looks flawless – makes sense though, you being better at this stuff than me…

What a clever idea! This sort of design is quite fashionable in Australia, particularly with the indie types. Did you sew the fabric first before painting it, or did you paint it first?
